CANVAS or CANVAZ: two Sansiri projects in the same Phuket district
In shortSansiri has built two condominiums in Cherng Talay whose names differ by a single letter. CANVAS Cherngtalay — with an S — is finished, 175 units, about 70% sold, from ฿8,527,000. CANVAZ Palette Cherngtalay — with a Z — is the newer and larger one: 248 units, from ฿6,230,000, completion expected around May 2028.
5 facts about this
- The entry price differs by ฿1,967,000 — the discount you get for waiting about two years
- CANVAS is a finished building you can move into now; CANVAZ Palette has not started construction
- CANVAS is denser in buildings but smaller overall: 5 buildings of 6 storeys, 175 units against 2 buildings of 7 storeys and 248
- Different streets: CANVAS on Pasak–Khoktanod Rd, CANVAZ Palette on Soi Cherngtalay 3 off Srisoonthorn Rd
- Both are freehold under the foreign quota, both by Sansiri (SET: SIRI)

Not the same project
One letter, two buildings
If you searched for “Canvas Cherngtalay” and landed here, you are looking at the newer project. Sansiri named its first Cherng Talay condominium CANVAS and its 2026 launch CANVAZ Palette. They are two separate buildings on two different roads, about two kilometres apart, sold at different stages and different prices. Neither is a phase of the other — CANVAS is complete, CANVAZ Palette has yet to break ground.

Which one is actually for you
Take CANVAS if
- You want the keys now, not in 2028 — the building is standing and people live in it
- You want rental income from the first month rather than from 2028
- You want to walk the actual apartment before paying, not read a floor plan
- A smaller one-bedroom suits you — CANVAS starts at 39 m², below anything in Palette
- You accept a thinner choice: what is left is what is left
Take CANVAZ Palette if
- ฿1,967,000 of entry price matters more to you than two years of waiting
- You want the full range to choose from — 248 apartments, 26 layout variants, all floors open
- You want the payment spread out: 30% on contract, 20% during construction, 50% at transfer
- You want furniture, appliances and a year of concierge inside the price
- You are buying to hold, and an earlier entry price is the point
Straight talk
What is honestly worse in each
- CANVAS: the price of a finished building is already in the price. The cheapest entry is ฿1.97M higher, and the remaining stock is whatever did not sell in the first two years — the best views usually go first.
- CANVAZ Palette: EIA approval and the construction permit are still in progress. May 2028 is a target, not a contractual date, and off-plan schedules in Thailand routinely move.
- Both: neither has a sea view. Cherng Talay is an inland district; the water is a drive away from either address.
What both share
Same developer, same district, same ownership
Both are Sansiri, a company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand as SIRI since 1996 and trading since 1984. Both sit in Cherng Talay, the subdistrict that holds Bang Tao, Layan and Surin beaches and the Laguna complex. Both sell freehold under the 49% foreign quota, and in both cases the money has to arrive from abroad in foreign currency for the bank to issue the FET form the Land Office requires.
